IMD Weather LIVE Updates: On Monday, parts of Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) experienced heavy rainfall, resulting in a drop in temperatures. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted that Odisha, Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh, West Madhya Pradesh, and East Rajasthan will face severe thunderstorms and heavy rain. This weather pattern is attributed to a low-pressure system developing over Gangetic West Bengal, which is expected to bring showers to many areas.
The ongoing monsoon has caused significant disruptions, particularly in hilly regions, leading to landslides and tragic loss of life. In response, the IMD has issued red and orange alerts for several states, advising residents to exercise caution when going outdoors. A warning for heavy rainfall has been issued for Northwest, West Coast, and Northeast India over the next week.
In the coming 24 hours, heavy rainfall is anticipated in Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and both West and East Uttar Pradesh. As the monsoon intensifies nationwide, the IMD has also predicted rainfall in South Interior Karnataka, Kerala & Mahe from July 9th to 12th, Coastal Karnataka from July 7th to 10th, and Telangana on July 7th and 8th.
Residents are urged to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to safeguard against rain-related hazards. It is advisable to monitor the latest updates from the IMD and seek shelter in safe locations. Travel should be avoided if possible, and individuals should steer clear of conductive objects during storms.
